im guessing this is playing off of mewtwo's original armor, with other pokemon's armor being more restrained in design and playing off the unique characteristics of each pokemon. seems like they are attempting to compensate for mewtwo basically already having an "armored form".

Coded as a Mythical anon, but it's a snowflake form of the anime main character's pokémon and not in any way shilled by the moviesAs a Mythical (which has been the modus operandi since Jirachi movie. I'm also reminded of back when Bank was handing out Mewnium-Z and every idiot logging on thought they'd also distribute Mew again, only for them to be proven wrong.
And even with BW/HGSS connectivity, Celebi had no relevance beyond unlocking Zorua in a cutscene.

And why does it matter if it's a mythical? it's still a gen 6 Pokémon being relevant in early gen 7. It's not unusual, it's not surprising, it's nothing.

Both are forms of being relevant. And it's not "one cutscene", it's two events you need to go through in two different games to obtain one of the most anticipated new Pokémon (which also starred in a movie at the time, in case you forgot)

because mythicals are not easily obtained and can't just be inserted into the new game, brainlet
it makes no sense to give zeraora a new form for gen 8 when it likely won't be available in gen 8 for over a year, outside of bank, which doesn't help the potentially millions of kids who don't already have zeraora

Armoured evos only started getting mentioned in "leaks" when Mewtwo movie merch leaked anon. I know they like teasing upcoming pokémon, but I've never seen them tease an upcoming mechanic in the last movie of a Gen this way.
