I'll be using Grookey in sword and shield when they come out. But if he turns out to be the waifu mon of that gen I'm fucking boxing that nigger immediately. I haven't done it before because I always like atleast one starter, but this time I fucking dislike them all except for Grookey.

If you do this every game then what even is the point of buying a new game? If you're just going to use the same pokemon as always, why buy a cartridge full of fresh ones? I try to only use new pokemon for my first playthrough.

Not OP but it’s possible to do both. For example, my first run of Sun I only trained Litten until I got a Rockruff, then boxed it and treated Rockruff as my starter instead.

I would really enjoy a pokemon game that asks you if you want to play the game on "Standard" or "Veteran" at the beginning.

Standard giving you the basic 3 starter options, Veteran giving you a single First form NFE pokemon of your choosing..

I use my starter until it finishes evolving, then make up some reason to say goodbye, like it doesn't like battling anymore and wants to just live a peaceful live. I box it but imagine it's at home having cute slice of life adventures with my Pokemom. I'm having a gym battle or whatever and they're baking cupcakes for the bake sale because my Pokemom wants to beat her snooty old neighbor and Incineroar is going to help!

that is doing both, I only use new pokemon in a new game but when I played Moon I boxed my starter. Not using your starter and using the same mons every playthrough are not the same thing
