These are the only good looking human designs in the whole movie. Everyone else looks like they belong in Dino time or any other South Korean kids show/movie.

I think it's less the bigger eyes and more of the fact that the others are all hideously cross eyed, even when looking around. jessie/james look in the direction they're looking, if that makes any sense - I don't have another way to phrase it.

it's recoiling fear. from what I remember of the original movie, this scene has mew and mewtwo fighting above them, or the genetically modified pokemon are waking up. so, snarl is close.
