HG is the easier of the two to Nuzlocke since, as you don't use the legendaries anyway, not being forced to dick about in the whirl islands is a huge boon. Ariados, Primeape and Arcanine are also much better in game mons in HG than their counterparts Ledian, Persian and Ninetales in SS

During their lifetime the distinction was made far more often since most people only had one of the two.
