iirc they're jewels that represent his creations: red (regirock), blue (regice) and white (registeel). They're probably what gives him his powers or something, thats how I always saw it.

I managed to grab a Regice from the questing thing for go. I actively use him out of love since he's my favorite of the trio.

Also have a Regice that I've ribbon mastered, so I think it's fair to say he's my favorite legendary.

I dunno why the Regis are suddenly so popular lately, but I don't mind. They've always been my favorite trio. Regigigas and Regice are two of my over all favorite pokemon.

Heck, Regice is the only pokemon I bothered collecting all the gold leaves for in HG/SS

I think they were always kinda popular, it's just that they happen to be especially terrible in battle outside of certain situations. And to be honest, having a legendary trio that's not overwhelming and obnoxiously in your face is kinda refreshing. They're like the underdogs of the legendaries and I think it helps endear them to people since it's easier to like something that's really unique and interesting but isn't obnoxious powerful than it is, say, the genies of the balanced meta.

Plus, they needed to be obtained by embarking through multiple optional areas, training up a Wailord and catching a Relincath (which are really rare), and then tracking down a cave, decoding their messages, and then traveling across the map to their tombs to solve the puzzles left behind to unlock them.

And THEN you carted them all over to Sinnoh to bring infront of an ancient statue to reawaken Regigigas. I don't think there's any other legendary trio that's had such an engaging sidequest, and it's really damn cool. I wish they had more stuff like this nowdays desu, I miss those puzzles.

But at the very least I've managed to find a set that actually works in OU and BSS with Regice that isn't the meme-polish one. And I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Here it is. With the Assvest on top of base 200 sp.def this thing is an absolute MONSTER to take down. It's actually managed to beat Charizard Y and Nagadeal singlehandedly and can even tank a +3 Gigavolt Havoc from Thundurus Therian without even taking 50% (it took 45.6% iirc). It's just insane.

I have some replays of it, but I'd need to dig them up. It's based off of the Regice I've been Ribbon Mastering, which I believe I mentioned earlier in this thread. Dude's gonna have them all and I couldn't be prouder of how far he's come.

Regice isn't untiered because he's too weak for PU. He's untiered because even Mega-Rayquaza shat himself at the thought of having to share AG with him.

I'm not the one who made this set, rather it was somebody else on the OU ladder who had managed to get to the 1800s with it. But it's been pretty fun to use, and I hope you guys are able to have fun with it too!

Regice relies on landing SE hits most of the time since base 100 sp.atk isn't amazing, so he normally just 2hko's what he fights, but that works well enough. You can exchange Flash Cannon for HP Grass, HP Fire, or whatever else you'd like to use instead if you don't need him to handle the fairies. I tried Ancient Power, but he's not able to consistently OHKO Char-Y with it so it's a gamble if you're willing to take that.

The Regice I got in Emerald was actually Modest, so I've been looking for a way to make use of it, and it's pretty astounding. He takes less than 20% from a Spec'd Tapu Lele using Psychic (though Psyshock would probably maul him) and makes almost any pokemon that relies on special moves look like a total joke.

Of course, well, his weakness is anything that relies on Physical moves, specifically the ones that are faster then him, but that's what the rest of the team is for.

At level 50 and with only that 4 points of investment his sp.def hits 331. Seriously this thing is nuts and totally surprised me with how much he's actually pulled his weight. He's won entire games single-handedly and I can't even count the amount of times he's clutched me a win.

Again, just keep him away from the faster physical attackers and he'll handle the rest. Good luck out there!

Still working on an Ideal set for Regirock, but it's so much harder because he's weak to quite a lot and it's far easier to cripple a physical attacker than it is a special one, plus he doesn't have an item to boost his 200 def like Regice does or the balanced bulk and good typing of Registeel. I'll make something work one day though.

I think all of them would immediately shoot up at least one tier if they got Recover, and really they should have it since it's said in their dex entries they can repair themselves with their surroundings. Why don't they have it?
