Any era in which you're able to actually enjoy the games. There's nothing wrong with people enjoying Gen VII, they just enjoy it for different reasons than someone else might have enjoyed Gen V.
What matters is that you're spending your time on something you enjoy. That's when things are best.

Platinum to BW2. Even if I'm not personally a fan of HGSS, you can't deny that a lot of people think it's the best. Plus, the spinoffs in that time. Conquest, Ranger, PMD Explorers, etc. Good shit.
