It's strange - they're both some of my favorite Legendaries individually (I personally started out preferring Reshiram, and I guess I still maintain something of a bias toward it just because it was my favorite first, but Zekrom has grown on me significantly since then and it's honestly hard to pick a favorite now - they're both fantastic)... but I'm really not the biggest fan of them as a duo, because they're so heavily designed to be "equivalent" in every possible way. I mean, I know the *point* is that they're even more codependent than other mascot duos, so being parallel makes *sense* - but it feels kinda boring by comparison to the other duos, which are all more varied in concept and simply share common elements.
I like that Zekrom has one more pair of wings than Reshiram - I sorta wish there were more details like that to distinguish them.
As it is, it sorta feels like they were designed from a checklist ("each one has to have a head crest that trails behind it, a neck decoration, a chest decoration, wing-hands, three-toed feet and a bulky, glowing tail, and this is their stance when they're drawn in full") for the sake of resembling one another rather than designed as individuals and then gradually made more similar. It's basically like the Forces of Nature's Incarnate Formes, if on a less exaggerated scale - basing them on different animals (one a tiger and one still a dragon, like the actual yin and yang?), even while keeping as many of their existing features intact as possible, would go a long way toward making them look more interesting when seen as a pair.
That said, I love both of them and they're some of the better mascots - I just wish they were better distinguished as a pair!
