By having axis of day/night, Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter, and Clear/Rain/Sunny/Snowhail/Fog/Sandstorm which can occur through the entire region and change the look, encounter tables, and events that can happen. Also let the player character look up the forecast on TV or the support technology.

Tied to the real world, but nothing is exclusive to a season. It'd be mostly aesthetic with minor changes to encounters and NPC dialogue.

Oh yeah, also introduce an acid rain/smog/bad air kind of weather that buffs poison types, raises accuracy/duration/effect of status conditions, and weakens fairy-type moves.

Actually, I like having encounters exclusive to different seasons. It could be passable if these pokemon were still present during off seasons, but very rare.

Imagine if more Pokemon had changes by season like a thicker coat in winter, Stanter horn size, some birds with different feathers in spring, having a leaner body in summer, or various grass types having leaves turn in fall.

Spring: *some new weather for bosst bug, ground, fairy
