>Japanese game
>set in France influenced setting

It increases your style level, though there are far more economic ways to do that. But GameFreak probably got tourist baited into thinking tipping was common in France, a lot of locals take advantage of tourists who don’t know their customs in virtually every part of the world.

The games are really an exaggerated version on how their vacation went. When they went to France, everyone asked for tips, Paris had annoying blackouts. And when they went to Hawaii, they were prevented from exploring anywhere

I went to World Championships one of the times it was in Hawaii and Masuda+Sugimori were there. I can confirm it was difficult to travel anywhere, the hotel was really isolated so you could only really go anywhere by paying for tours.
