Fire Red / Leaf Green. It expanded on Red and Blue so much and was smart about things like cross-gen evolutions.

For sentimental reasons Red/Blue will be my favourite versions because of everything surrounding the games when they came out. Being a child in that era was a great time to be a Pokemon fan.

Playing them today I will go for FR/LG 10/10 times over Red and Blue.
