Feel like playing a Pokemon Game. What game should I dedicate to completing? Going to be doing a random team for that gen so I can experience new pokemon.

I'd go with X. You have a wide variety of mons available, and Kalos is very pretty imho, it's a region I simply love strolling around, makes the whole game more enjoyable.

probably XY if you just want to focus on variety of mons. HGSS or Platinum if you want a good game

Platinum and BW2 have good variety in mons AND aren't steaming piles of shit like XY

What I remember of my last BW2 playthrough was that every route had nothing but Growlithes. Platinum was also shit because Gen 4 mons are hideous. XY actually gives you a wide range of mons from every gen in every route, and the game is actually very fun to play/replay.

what the fuck are you talking about? growlithe is only found in one area of the game, are you baiting? also everyone here knows that X/Y are braindead easy, so having a wide range of pokemon doesnt mean shit.

OP didn't ask for a challenge, just a game where he can build a team and try new Pokemon, and XY's variety is the best fit for that. Besides, the games are fun, you don't know what OP's intent is besides the team building, so with only that info at hand then yes, XY is a good recommendation.

Whatever you do, don't play anything prior to Gen IV. Without the split it is unplayable garbage.
