>then story ideas dry outNot really. They chose to recycle Explorers plot elements in GtI and Super, but they didn't have to. They could make an entire game out of something like the special episodes from Sky, for instance. Or, you know, keep the regular story structure (human turns into a pokemon, makes friends, stuff happens, climb tower, main character goes away and comes back) but put more focus on the new concepts you're introducing and the pokemon you're using.
for instance I think Super had a lot of good ideas but they were held back by trying to replicate Explorers instead of focusing on them. still liked it a lot though. gti didn't really have this problem to be fair, they focused on the new ideas pretty well and just kept the same structure as the previous games.
