I'd say it's actually UNFORGETTABLE because of the actual disappointment that XY is an incomplete game with 5 FPS and makes every Pokemon game before it look like Dark Souls in difficulty comparison.

The AI is also the worst it's ever been, with moves from trainers being selected by pure RNG so they use growl instead of fainting your 1 hp Pokemon. This makes nuzlocke/low level runs pointless.

The starters are all also extremely ugly besides Braixen. Thank God gen 7 fixed this

Gen 6 starters are pretty meh, but they're miles above Tony the Tiger, Tranny Seal and Dude in Owlsuit

Because it was a by the numbers Pokemon game. When you take away the 3D aspect (which wasn't even done as well as it could have been) they are very safe and don't try anything new with characterization, dungeon design etc. Also the region was literally France and didn't feel like a Pokemon world. Music sux too

Personally speaking I found the battle themes to be weaker than usual, and I don't remember the route music at all. The wild Pokemon theme is my least favorite in the series. The town songs are admittedly nice though.

Because the story/characters were bland as all fuck, and they Kanto pandered too much. Mechanically it was revolutionary, but mechanics are only a part of the whole. Gotta say though, I liked the new Pokémon, and Megas were a dumb anime asspull that I can't get enough of for some reason.
