When I watched generations for the first time, I genuinely teared up. I know it's pretty gay but it really brought back great memories about why I started loving this series so much.

Had actual consequential plot points, the problem with the main anime is that it seems to never end, new pokemon and characters keep shuffling in and out, Ash won't ever win, etc. Pokemon and characters we are supposed to become emotionally attached to are "killed off" and thrown off the show after every season to keep the show recycled and going as long as possible.
