I also gave plenty of examples of top tier Pokemon being better off because of this 1 mechanic change, and would be much easier to deal with.
I do get the whole BSTs and Stats being blown out of proportion, but how limited those Pokemon are to certain moves. Let’s look at Kartana to maybe illustrate what I’m talking about.
Kartana as we all know, has a extemely MinMaxed stats with a huge 181 Atk, but has pretty moderate power moves. Typically it will use Leaf Blade, Smart Strike, and Sacred Sword. But what if in an alternate timeline, Kartana could not use Leaf Blade?
Now pretty much every bulky Water and Ground type can come in more easily to wall the shit out of Kartana.

And here is one of my favorites
+6 252 Atk burned Kartana Smart Strike vs. 248 HP / 36+ Def Pelipper: 129-151 (39.9 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Fucking Pelipper, a Pokemon with the same BST as Persian, can wall off a +6 Kartana (that’s the same as having an Atk over base 870) if the Phy/Spe split never happened and if it got a burn from scald.
You see, no matter how high stats will get, coverage and STAB still make a huge difference
