The fuck are you talking about? It makes perfect sense. Weaker peoples traditionally will hire mercenaries to protect themselves or to wage their wars for them. If a Pokemon is to weak for the fight its going to get into why wouldn't it outsource?

The real question you need to be asking is what do those Pokemon have to offer Aegislash? What could they hope to give in exchange for its power?

I wouldn't go that far. That would scare off potential buyers. I think it would be something more subtle. Either taking some of their memories or using their body as its own for a period of time.
