>>38318047Yes, that image was just about renaming the Dark type for the heck of it (to point out that it's not about literal elemental darkness). Didn't come up with anything better than Foul...without actually just naming it the Evil type like the japanese games do.
>>38318144Just checked /vp for the first time in weeks and saw the rushed Sand image I made the previous evening.
The responses so far aren't anything I wasn't expecting from the moment I thought of the idea.
>>38317838Feel free to bash those as I have no intent on defending them. Just like the Fungus type (actually surprised that one wasn't posted yet)
But for Wind/Rubber/Sound/Cosmic, I've grown quite fond of.
Not sure about Sand yet, but the image in the OP is far from polished.
If anyone is legit wondering about it and what my apologetics would be in the context of overlap with the Ground type,
basically, Sand would be the more elemental "earth" type, if Ground is taken as more of a conceptual and strategic type akin to Flying.
So Ground in that scenario, is about the idea of a firm floor to stand on, combiend with the fact that most creatures are stuck to it due to gravity and rely on its stability for everything they do.
A Ground type uses that to its advantage, by having not just the skills to traverse the ground when convenient, but by being able to destabilize it or trap the opponent in it.. in other words, manipulating the otherwise free movement of the opponent. The other strategic value of it is using it as a defense.
In that sense it would really be the opposite of the Flying type, which is also about the fact that everything is stuck on the ground, but having the skills to be the exception to the rule, gaining the advantage of a birds-view on your opponent, as well as an extra dimension of movement.
With that take on the type, there is potential for another type that does take the role of an earth-element aspect.
