The problem with it is that many duelist will make you put x number of random Pokemon in your deck, for example there's this guy who will ask you to put 4 Pikachu cards other will tell you to add 3 Mysterious Fossil and so on, even the last boss will tell you to add the legendary cards from the first game, the game is fun because the TCG is fun but they sure drop the ball with this shit, the new area is a plus, though.

Whether you win or lose is 90% dependent on getting a good hand at the start of the match and it kinda kills the game for me. It either becomes super easy especially if the CPU didnt get a good hand, or it becomes frustrating as fuck when you get shit cards and have to rely on coin flips.

Gust of wind absolutely destroys that strategy, and evolution cards are pretty slow and will get hopped pretty often especially when compared to cards that are just 1/2 turn setups to shit out damage like hitmonchan/scyther/electabuzz/magmar

If you don't start off with a chansey and a mime and Abra on the bench you'll have a rough time getting through, since both Abra and mime both get killed pretty easily.
And some of the AI's decks can give you real trouble too
The reason decks just consisting of the Haymakers like hit/scyther/buzz/magmar do so well is because your chances of drawing a bad hand are super low.
The only bad Hands are like drawing scyther against a fire deck and not getting any other bench pokemon.

This game would have been better if it adhered to the main games story rather than doing its own thing with characters no one cares about. Like a simplified version of kanto but with card Battles. like you would face Brock, misty, surge, etc

I suppose the out-of-sync audio doesn't help either
basically Zapdos does 30 damage to a random Pokémon when you place it
they're searching the deck for Zapdos to play and after that trying to get them back into their hand so they can play them again
if you do it enough you can win before the opponent has a chance to even move
it's probably a bit more reliable in the second one since you have some better trainers

You also can't play older metas in general, and old exes and meta cards from those eras (EX Deoxys Jirachi is fucking $40 for a decent copy, and most exes are +$60 whether they saw play or not) are stupidly expensive, making playing in paper far from ideal as well.

A legacy mode for the older eras would be fucking amazing, and really makes me wish that there had either been a bunch of yearly video games like Yugioh had until ~2012, or that PTCGO had existed far sooner.

Just beat tcg 2. A bit disapointed that there's literally no reward for beating all the ghost statues in the sealed hall. They were the only challenging fights in the game

This room in particular its up for debate but overall the sequel really cranks up the visuals

Ptcgo is old and busted
It's basically a flash game
They really need to upgrade the graphics, that current garbage isn't aesthetic anymore
It's sad when a game boy color game is more visually appealing.

I think the Pokemon brand was healthier when they weren't so stingy with the IP. Having games like pinball, tcg, stadium, the colosseum games, and on was really just printing money and letting studios train staff
