I haven't played a Pokémon since Platinum and have never played any of the remakes. I started with gen 1. Outside of graphics, general QOL improvements and newer Pokémon being available, how different are they from the original versions?

Also, are OR/AS worth it if I've already played Emerald to death?

Updated graphics, QoL improvements, and new Pokemon/items is all any Pokemon remake adds, ORAS is no different. ORAS are better than Emerald because of all those things, though.

Only reason to play ORAS is for legendary farming/Deoxys. No reason to play it if you're not a collector. Hg/Ss is 10/10 once due to the ass load of new content and small touches they added but meh afterwards because you won't care about that shit after so you're left with gen 2's flaws on gen 4's shit engine.

Yes, but it's missing some of Emerald's improvements, most notably the Battle Frontier.
But you can catch Deoxys, which is nice.

New Pokemon games that come out later this year are called Sword and Shield.
There is currently lots of shitposting about how to call these games. SS already exists with Soulsilver, yet there are some who insist on calling Sword and Shield SS too instead of SwSh.

Having SWSH confirmed as the official acronym wasn't enough so no.
