Leak season normally begins once a fair bit of info has already been legitimately revealed, often times only truly starting once copies of the game are mailed to stores and end up leaking before street dates. So far we don't even have any new 'mons officially showcased other than the starters, so it should be no surprise that it's not actually leak season yet because they're withholding a lot of info.
Something tells me with how little we know about the games this far along in comparison to previous gens, that they're gonna have a very big reveal here soon. My money is on the Detective Pikachu premiere, or E3. Maybe both if we're lucky. Pokemon has never really had a big presence at E3 so it'll be interesting to see what they may bring to the table.
