California just seems like the perfect setting for a region. It's sufficiently large and has several biomes occupying its valleys, mountains, forests, coasts, and deserts. Plus, it'd be very marketable.

Too bad that isn't a new or unique idea for pokemon
Maybe if they tried to theme the designs on people sharing their culture it would've been better or at least different but that didn't happen.

I don't think he was implying it wasn't officially a US state. I think all he was saying is that it's nothing more than a tourist attraction and a pit stop for the Air Force. I literally can't think of anything else that Hawaii has to offer the world.

I'm going to have to go with Texas. It's one of the most iconic American states. It's one of the first thing foreigners will think of when they think of America. Since the state is so huge it has a fuckton of variety in locations. Forests, deserts, some mountains, and cities. Also good way to finally get some Cowboys in the world of Pokemon. If it had to be somewhere that isn't the United States then I'd want Canada.

I doubt any of the remaining US states except for California and maybe Florida are gonna be regions.

After Galar and most likely Sinnoh, so two cold regions we're probably going to visit a more hotter one but not exactly super tropical. So my bet is Brazil.

Japan really doesn't consider Hawaii "the US". I remember seeing a poll on a TV show a while back where they had qasked kids which foreign countries they had been to and which they wanted to go to (and why), and the poll treated "Hawaii" and "America" as separate options. Japan very much treats Hawaii as its own thing.

Sootopolis CIty is based on a Greek island. Doesn't change the fact that Hoenn as a whole is clearly based on kyushu. Just because Unova also has some aspects from other countries doesn't mean it's not clearly based on NY (and the US as a whole).

You can tell by the starters

>villians are knights (french and snivy)
