they just dont work in pokemon's setting. pokemon are meant to be an analog to animals, creatures that naturally exist in the world alongside humans, not creations of man themselves. imagine if monster hunter suddenly had you killing giant mechs who happen to be alive because reasons, thats basically what pokemon's doing.
