no but honestly i forgot, you're right, but i still think 1.5 speed to ice types is a bad idea. slush rush is a better solution. i wouldn't mind it making them more defensive though i guess,as that seems more thematic. i don't see why hail would make them faster.

The problem is the type itself is the issue, not specific Pokemon. So just giving Slush Rush to some of them doesn't benefit the type as a whole, who have a massive disadvantage just by existing.

Give it a different resistance, maybe Dragon (and maybe nerf Fairy to compensate)

This would only be OK if Rock got a massive defensive buff to compensate. It's almost as bad as Ice right now.

It might break a few mons, i guess. Raising Def is more reasonable.
Also, Slush Rush was released last gen, i don't think they'd change it or make it redundant so soon.

I know rock type shouldn't be nerfed any further, I said that just because I felt like Stealth Rock should be less effective in battle.

It doesn't, but it has more utility. It would also give the chance of having a freezing status move with decent accuracy rather than relying solely on the secondary effect of attacking moves. An ice will o wisp distributed exclusively to ice types would buff the type big time. That wouldn't be possible with the actual freezing effect

im interested in changing freeze somehow, but not to a copy of burn. it would need to be something else.
BUT the problem with freeze as is is that its so powerful that the way pokemon's battle system works, it has to be low odds. and 10% odds is just not enough to build a team around, so it just fucks your opponent randomly in rare matches. but thats not a plan or anything you can really build around. and anyway its slowly been getting nerfed but ice types stay sucking so.
either way though, some of the best ice attack pokemon aren't even ice types anyway coz ice as a type just sucks. maybe ice types could have a higher freeze chance, but freeze as a status effect is still just so powerful idk. kind of a tricky spot as i see it.

Same with rock, it should stay strong against ice, but stealth Rock really needs to be fucking nerfed already
