Famitsu used to be notorious for how rarely it handed out perfect scores, so getting one was a huge honor. It's not nearly as big of a deal these days, since they've gotten a lot more liberal with them.

Famitsu in general used to be really hard on games so getting a good score really meant something. These does though they're about the same as any other reviewer. Cucked by game companies into giving good scores so they stay connected.
