I played through BlazeBlack 2 recently and really enjoyed it.
The last official game I played was ORAS and it was hot fucking garbage. Didnt even make it past Mauville.
I left my 3ds on the charger while I went on vacation in the summer and it melted while I was away, so i didnt get to play gen 7 and I'm not gonna bother at this point with gen 8 coming out this year.

The last time I truly had fun? Eh... probably my first playthrough of Y when it was still exciting to be playing a mainline game in 3D, I had just bought a 3DS to play it so that was fresh and exciting, the online features and Wonder Trading were fun, etc. Hasn't been anything all that fun after the first few days of playing Y, though. I've mostly just sort of played Pokemon games to have something to do as opposed to actively enjoying myself. I don't think GF has it in them to really make me have fun again.

ultra moon. I like all of the main series games to some degree, even if I like some more than others. I find that being intensely devoted to a particular entry of the game for whatever reason makes you a bit of a loathsome cuck who refuses to enjoy future entries. This is only for Pokemon, I should mention. Some other games make that way of thinking perfectly fine. (Final Fantasy, is a really big example.)

That said, gen 6 is a 5/10 game and gen 7 is a 6/10 game. It's okay to enjoy mediocrity. Unfortunately, GF apolocels can't seem to fathom this. I also notice Marvel drones act like this as well.

Let's go was so much better than Moon it's not even funny. I skipped ultra ___ though because they would have to pay me 40 dollars to mash A through all that bullshit again.

Honestly the best Pokemon games I have played in many years have been Pokken, PokeMMO, and a Pokemon tabletop adventures RPG I played with my friends. GameFreak is probably not capable of providing a great Pokemon experience anymore unless it's by accident.

I derive enjoyment from every Pokemon game no matter how mediocre (Though I've never played LGPE and won't plan on it unless there's a big sale that won't happen) they are.

And I'm gonna have fun with Sword and Shield too.
