It bothered me at first but I could understand since it's so far away from Kalos and Hoenn.

Makes sense since it's not an isolated island region like Alola.

It's LITERALLY right next to Kalos, and probably even the region AZ used the mega-stone-creating ancient weapon on. It'd make no sense to not have a few new ones.

If we get armor shit instead of new megas I'm gonna be so mad.

Just like every major mechanic after gen 5.
At least natures, physical/special split and abilities stayed.
At this point they are just add ons instead of actual mechanics actually (megas/formes/zmoves/ubs)

how are ubs in any way similar to mechanics like abilities, megas or z-moves?
if you ignore their lore they function just like any other pokémon, no battle gimmicks or anything

Yeah i was thinking of that while i typed that.
I wish they would stop with new gimmicks and actually build upon what they have but i guess its a good way to sell new games.
Ah yeah i do think fairy was a good addition actually, just wish they would go with a different theme.

Depends on how they implement armors but my money is on mega is dead.

Z moves were put in to give all mons access to a power boost without having to program 800 different form changes and items

If the rumors are to be believed about armor, we will get some mega like form changes on certain pokemon, but for the most part it will either be type or stat based and have a generic representation (like orbiting icons)

I hope armors function like Z-moves: something every pokémon can use (represented by a generic aura), but with some shillmons having their own exclusive armors that are more powerful than the generic ones (represented by full amors added to their models, like Movie Mewtwo)

That way they don't have to create 900+ models for every pokémon with an armor glued to it

Designs like this were an experiment, and they proved the Pokemon fanbase generally prefers consistency or at least nothing risk-taking in designs.

Buzzwole and Blacephalon ranked in almost the absolute bottom of the Nintendo Dream poll, and only Xurkitree and Poipole were popular from what I remember (Cele and Phero ranked mid-low). Doesn't help that UBs are constantly used as criticism for 7. I'm the only one out of my friends who likes them as well.
