But since you're the densest motherfucker on earth let me spell out the point of this thread.
NOBODY is talking about doing a solo run with only one Pokemon. Or that Treecko can't beat a Gym or even the whole game with the right moveset and strategy.
The point is that it is inferior to the other two starters. What Treecko is capable of by itself is meaningless, it's about comparing it to the other options available to you. And the other starters contribute more, demand less and make the game far easier than picking Treecko.
Blaziken obviously can't take on Wallace. But it CAN do plenty of other things itself, it just requires other teammates to back it up against its weaknesses.
Swampert is a damn killing machine and probably could hold up a solo run easily desu, but thats not the point. It's insanely useful through all stages of the game, easily solos multiple gyms and is always a great addition to any team. You can cover its main Grass weakness easily to make sure it doesn't get caught off guard.
Sceptile has to rely on teammates for everything because it doesn't excel at anything at all. It isn't useful at all until the Water Gym/Champion (and even there it's only marginally useful). At this point you're not using other teammates to cover Sceptiles weaknesses as you are using them to drag Sceptile's dead weight throughout the game.
Could you throw out Sceptile vs any of the Gyms and eventually win? Sure. But there is always a better alternative that would win faster and offers more support against other things.
The slot that Sceptile takes up in your party would be better used on practically anything else. And the simple fact that picking it locks you out of EVER owning a Swampert is enough to make it a complete waste of a starter.
