I like Gen VI a lot. OR/AS was a bit disappointing, but I liked dexnav and soaring a lot.
X/Y is the fourth-best pair, after FR/LG, R/S, and HG/SS.

I like gen 1 a lot despite having its issues and glitches, really feel like you can use almost every Pokémon besides the obvious small handful of shitmons which you can’t really say with today’s games what with powercreep and all, and I like the distribution of pokemon between areas and accessibility

I thought sm were really comfy, and I dont mind cutscenes in an rpg. I agree it's not perfect, I especially that it's too liner and gf STILL cant make the 3d games not chug, but alola is pretty, I loved team skull, they made gyms enjoyable and besides like one or two mons all the new ones were pretty good.

OR/AS was actually good. People are just screaming because "muh battle frontier" or "muh soul" or whatever the fuck that means.

Redesigns were great (yes, even May's), redone plot was great. Biggrst complaint is that they hand over too many legendaries (they essentially give you three on a silver plate.)

The thing is that it was a game meant to be played and then restarted if you wanted to play again, like any other rpg of its time or don't restart and try to finish the Pokedex, but people are comparing it to the new games where beating the league isn't the end and you have to be mentality challenged to try to get a full Pokedex legally.

ORAS isn't BAD, but I much prefer all the non-gimped content from Emerald (but I don't give a shit about the Frontier).
I'm willing to play pre-split, because that's fun in its own regard.
Only thing I'm missing out when not playing ORAS are the good redesigns for Aqua and Magma.
