He was pretty popular when he was the only pokemon (other than manaphy) that had Hydration, rain rest Dewgong were pretty common, now Lapras and Vaporeon which are much bulkier can do the same so he's kind of obsolete now, again.

Nah if you want the most known Pokemon that nobody still talks about then it's easily Smeargle. Everyone knows it at a glance, half the people can't even name him, and he's just boring and kinda there, nobody really talks about him beyond potentially a few diehard fans (and that's the case with any Pokemon but even then its limited).

Like I like Smeargle, he's an ok Pokemon, but doesn't anybody really gaf about him at all?

I like the design plenty enough, but he suffers from the "underwhelming even for ingame" syndrome when you compare it to the other available water types you usually can get.
It doesn't help that were talking about the most common type too, hell, it even has to compete with another 2 water-ice types on its own generation.

I love this fucker. Had him on my team in some game, can't remember which, but he was one of my favorites. Really simple design but still aesthetically pleasing, good mon but not too overpowered to feel cheap using.

It was about three-four years ago we all came to the consensus that Lumineon was the most forgettable pokemon and we all shat bricks because half of the thread participants had legitimately forgotten it and we had a new winner. Now it’s remembered as being the winning loser of sorts.

Now front runners include
