She cuts her hair after having a cry but it's such a superficial decision and the effects are mostly vanity related.
She spends most of her time dressing up her and her Pokemon. She barely even battles and most of the ones she participates in get interrupted before they even finish.
She is painfully defined by her relationship with Ash to the point she develops little to no personality of her own- hence the propensity for people to write her character themselves.
