Are there any Pokémon that are depicted in the main series games as just floating for no reason OTHER than this line? I'm starting to think that's the real reason I dislike it.
Everything else can be explained; flying with wings, levitating, using telekinesis, electromagnetism, being lighter than air, or in the case of all fish Pokémon the intent is clearly to depict them as if they're swimming underwater. Even Geodude was originally depicted as sitting on the ground - art, sprites and dex entries from the earlier games all support this.
But apart from the Vanilluxe family I just can't think of any other Pokémon that just float for no reason from the get-go, and I think that's why it triggers my autism so much. There is nothing about its design that suggests it should float. If you can offer an explanation for why this 'just floats', go for it.
