Why is Gen 3 full of slow, frail, mixed attackers? It seems like they were designed with Gen 3 battle mechanics in mind before the physical/special split to take full advantage of both physical/special moves but unfortunately most of these mixed mons were never even that good in their introductory Gen.

Still slow, but it's nowhere as frail. Also, for fun, Needle Arm now has a base power of 80. It'll still plummet in viability in future gens, though; 70/85/85 is mediocre, and its typing doesn't help.

Are they supposed to make every new Pokemon shit? Strong Pokemon are marketable, so each Gen there have to be Pokemon that stand out competitively among the hundreds of others, which requires new Pokemon to have either broken stats or a niche.

I don't mind a shitmon in principle, but when there are Pokemon that have sort of 'accidentally' ended up shitmon *despite* the traditional buffs given to Pokemon with shit BSTs (Gen III: several shitmon got great abilities, Gen IV: special/physical split made several shitmons potentially viable, Gen V: hidden abilities were clearly meant as a buff to a buff that had fallen to power creep, Gen VI: literally now resorting to BST buffs, Gen VII: aw fuck that didnt work what if we given them new formes? nope, still shitmon) then maybe the powercreep has gone too fucking far
