Subspecies, Rare (sub)species, Deviants, Variants, Origin Species, HC Variants, Lone Species, i know some of those are exclusive to Frontier but like...even in the mainline games I only ever call shit subspecies or variants

same with pokemon. What is the distinction between being legendary and mythical. They mean almost exactly the same thing

it's really just a case of japanese people using a word wrong because it sounds "cool", also marketing

Objectively speaking no. It's only when used in a stupid manner that everyone starts flipping out. Top major legends would be Lugia, Fug, Palkia/Giratina, Zekrom, Yveltal, and Necrozma.
I also like Mewtwo, Deoxys, Darkrai, and Genesect equally.
For pixies it's Mew, Victini, and Marshadow.
And for minor trios I like the Beasts, Regis, and Genies-Therian formes only.
Also like all of the Tapus for expanding the character of the Fairy type(they REALLY fit the old folklore with their fickle attitudes and incomprehensible motives).
