Pokemon Twitter don't know shit.
Some Legendaries have 580 BST, and all Mythicals have 600. They're in the same league if not better than some Legends.
All Myhticals are Legendaries, but not all Legendaries are Mythicals. It's a one way street, like comparing a square and a rectangle in geometry.
Manaphy is a Mythical and a Legendary. Suicune and Kyogre are only Legendary.

Also this is a really boring piece of trivia.

Yes and no. From an in-universe logic perspective, mythical being its own category is retarded because it’s just a type of legendary. However, from a game perspective, it makes a lot of sense because you never need mythicals for Pokédex completion credit.

It's pretty solid reasoning, anon.
Also we probably don't even have an official say. Pokemon Twitter is just some doofus regurgitating Pokedex entries and saying shit like "Rock types resist Electric" and doesn't have anything to do with how the games are made and how Pokemon are labeled. Until we get some higher up explicitly defining what is or isn't Mythical/Legendary, then it's very well a possibility that my square vs. rectangle analogy could be true.
Taking what some intern said on Twitter at face value is silly.

What matters more is whether or not they're obtainable outside of events, or the Delta episode. Cinnabar Mansion has plenty of records of Mew, for example. Then there are those people in later games that ask random passersby if they have a Genesect so they can give you its drives.

It doesn't, since both sub-legendaries and UBs have the same flag, and we know that UBs are not legendaries. Similarly, the Cosmog line and Necrozma share a flag with mythicals but we know they're legendaries.
There is a nameless supercategory that includes legendaries, mythicals, and UBs as distinct subcategories, and the Pokedex backgrounds seem to follow some other set of categories entirely.

Technically the game's code only distinguishes between "legends" and "sublegends". Box legendaries, Mewtwo, and mythicals fall under the former category, while lesser legendaries, tapus, and ultra beasts fall under the latter category.

幻のポケモン (mythical) (幻 actually means phantom/illusion/apparition etc)
Were always separate terms. It was just localized releases that lumped them together as legendaries, until Gen 5.

Yes, it has.
All Legendaries either have 570, 580, 600, or 670, or 680+ (not counting Slaking, Zyguardog, Pseudos, or Megas).
Gamefreak consciously make these decisions, and you're just sweeping them under the rug to save face.

Every single Pokemon with a BST of 570 was introduced in gen 7, and several of them are UBs.
Cosmog, Cosmoem, and Type: Null all have lower BSTs.
I don't think any legendary has a BST of 600, but I can't be bothered to check right now.

Doesn't mean that the point is invalid. I honestly think Lengendaries won't go below that, given how Arcanine, a non-Legend, is not too far behind.

Most legendaries that are neither part of a trio (unless they're the boss of said trio i.e: Landorus) or box legendaries end up having a BST of 600. Specifically: Latias, Latios, Heatran, Cresselia and Landorus all have 600 BST. The only exceptions to this rule are Regigigas and Silvally (and its pre-evo). Then, if you wanna count box legendaries, Zygarde and Necrozma also have 600 BST.
