>>38383343I rematched the Mewtwo movie last weekend. It's not what I'd call a great Pokemon flick in terms of how later films are. The battles are all one-sided and the human characters rather superfluous. If a kid wanted to come and see a movie where Ash has exciting battles, this isn't the film for them.
That said, if you look past that, it's a great character driven film for Mewtwo, so I like it on those merits. I think Ash was needed for Mewtwo's development, but the downside of that is that Ash doesn't really get to do a lot besides run after Pikachu's Pokeball or descend a bunch of stairs. The other trainers are even worse off.
It's definitely a good watch, though.
