Yeah, not disputing that it is probably consumer fatigue from buying the first game in each gen, but basically all Ohmori and Masuda need to do to be a director is say "scoreboard."

Basically we are stuck with them until they die

That is independent of total sales though. You can have a total increase while the average decreases so it doesn’t matter that they made more games, they also had higher selling individual games

It's amazing how sales remained constant even across consoles. Be it introductory entries for the gen, remakes, or third entry for the gen, all of them sold exactly the same regardless of being for GBA, DS or 3DS.

Wonder if the switch will keep that trend.

Also just so many quality of life improvements. Almost as good as Gen1 for me, but that’s hard to beat. Gen 4 was definitely the low point, routes were overly complex and bloated and the gym leaders were artificially difficult. Didn’t even finish it

We have to accept that the games will never be catered to us ever again. It's over.

Pokemon will from now on always be targeted to children that grew up with smartphones, social media and who knows what technology we will have in a few years. The times that we cherished in our youth are over.

Pokemon will stay a bittersweet memory.
