Rather than post like we're Nintendo employees lets talk about what we think/want to be in gen 8.

I don't want them to abandon it completely, so a couple of new ones for Alola mons like Ribombee, Tsareena, and maybe a shared one for Ultra Beasts to give them some relevance

Eeveelutions, a few babies, and a few evolutions would be nice, but it seems GF has abandoned cross-gen evos and babies though

>Button/option changes from LGPE
Ability to use 2 joycons as one controller, removal of manual catching mechanic, left joycon D-buttons/D-pad option for movement (joycons tend to drift)

I would really like following Pokemon and the Pokestar Studio thing to return. Both really help build up on the idea that you and your Pokemon are friends.

I don't think we'll end up getting any this gen. I truly think there will be some armor/weapon gimmick that will act as the new mega forms. Depending on which you choose it will boost defenses or attack power and possibly add some sort of passive bonus like "don't have to recharge after using moves like hyper beam," "boosts the power of kicking moves," or "recover health after using a status move." It'll have to be something unique to separate them from megas. I also think the gen 4 starters will all get an armor/weapon evolution eventually even if we have to wait til the remakes. They all sort of have armor already and it'll tie in well just like in ORAS.

I loved this feature so much. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see it anymore for the rest of the series. I think it was only don't because Alola was a far off island sort of like the orange islands. I would love to be wrong on this one but this definitely seems strictly like an Alola thing to me unless we end up on some other far off island in the future.

I think the only way we see more of these is if it can somehow tie into the aforementioned armor gimmick. They'll be back, I just don't think we'll see new ones unless it plays off that gimmick.

Wishful thinking, but since it's on the switch I think they're gonna go big and introduce a ton of new Pokemon including new evolutions to previous gens.

From the trailer, I think unfortunately the battles will largely stay the same aesthetically aside from maybe a few tweaks we haven't seen yet. Something small like seeing your trainer make gestures and commands in the background when you pick moves. Other than that, we'll get the same shitty 3D models with soulless poses.

I think we'll get fire/electric, fire/fairy, or fire/steel Scorbunny and he'll be a soccer player. Grookey will be grass/rock and will end up being a pun on a rock drummer. Sobble I think will go from being a massive pussy to a brave knight or martial arts fighter of some sort. The ability to disappear will be scrapped once he becomes brave. Though personally I'm hoping for the jock/band geek/drama nerd motiff. But every time I want a certain theme for the starters it never comes true. Honestly, in all likelihood, we'll probably just get something completely out of left field.
