Why aren't these guys Fairy types?

I originally was just going to make a thread about Cresselia because it pisses me off that she's not a Fairy type, but the more I thought about it, it doesn't make sense why a lot of different pokemon aren't Fairies. Am I wrong about any of these?

Mew: Psychic/Fairy
Celebi: Grass/Fairy
Jirachi: Steel/Fairy
Manaphy: Water/Fairy
Phione: Water/Fairy
Victini: Fire/Fairy
Mega Absol: Dark/Fairy
Gallade: Fighting/Fairy
Mega Gallade: Fighting/Fairy
Blissey: Normal/Fairy
Milotic: Water/Fairy

Creselia make sense as pure psychic- its related to space and dreams.

Celebi is psycgic because it uses psychic powers to travel in time.

Jirachi is Steel\psychic because its connected to space- its a star and steel because meteorites and steel type is often used as light type

yeah that was the one I was least sure about desu. The Normal/Fairy would make more sense as a Mega Blissey if they ever made it. Honestly I'd be happier if they just removed Blissey from the game though because of how obnoxious they are to kill

I only accept Milotic as Fairy when it's a Mega Evolution, since it pairs nicely with Mega Gyarados' Dark typing, as well as Milotic's more defensive nature.

Celebi shouldn't be Fairy as its entire premise is travelling through time and seeing the future. Future Sight, the move, and clairvoyance are associated with Psychic-type. And Celebi has control over plants, making it Grass.

Jirachi should remain Psychic/Steel. It is based on a comet, a celestial object, and space-related phenomena are associated with the Psychic typing.

Manaphy should be Water/Psychic (Phione as well) because it can swap people's hearts with one another canonically in the games and anime. It also has a strong psychic connection to the Undersea Temple and the sea.

Victini should remain Psychic/Fire. Understand this. Victini has two powers: the power to build up energy within itself (the Fire-type characteristic), and the power to transfer its own energy to others (the Psychic-type characteristic). Transferring and swapping energy and traits has been associated with Psychic since Gen 3, with all of the various swap moves.

Mega Absol has no real reason to be Fairy-type. It's not cute, feminine, or beautiful, and it has no mischievous tendencies.

Gallade should remain Psychic/Fighting because it is said to manipulate psychic energy into sharp blades. Fairy has no place on something like Gallade.

Blissey and Milotic. I agree with those.

Cresselia should b Psychic/Fairy. It is based on a celestial object, crescent moon, which is associated with Psychic.

Altaria should be Dragon/Flying as it is based on a star in Draco.

Mismagius should be Ghost/Psychic. Its namesake is magic or magia; magic has been commonly associated with Psychic-type. From the Abra family (all named after magic phrases or famous magicians in Japanese), to most magic-based moves being Psychic-type, to most abilities based on magic being gifted to Psychic-type Pokemon. It has no reason to be a Fairy-type. Mismagius is one of the few Pokemon to have access to all of the magic-named moves of different types. It's a sorceress ghost that can cast incantations.

No one wants to give Blissey the best type in the game on top of being already OP. Even from an ingame and in-world perspective, the whole line being pure Normal differentiates it from the Normal/Fairy Jigglypuff line and pure Fairy Clefairy line. The line all being pure Normal but sort of convergently evolving similar traits to those lines is interesting, but really they're just odd normal types like Kecleon or Lickitung. My headcanon is they're actually monotremes, as they look very very vaguely echidna like and have the obvious egg connection.
Mew is fine as pure Psychic. The other 'pixie' mythicals could have been Fairy had it existed at the time but they wouldn't retcon away a type other than Normal because they're autistic like that. Especially Celebi and Jirachi. Manaphy less so.
Gallade, interesting, I've never thought about that, but again the same thing where they won't eliminate a type that isn't Normal type.
Mega Absol should have been Fairy as should a hypothetical Mega Milotic or even the regular one, though in the way they trolled by not even giving Mega Gyarados Dragon typing, I could see them keeping it pure Water or making it Water/Dragon instead.
Mismagius defo should have been Ghost/Fairy to make it stand out from other pure Ghost types and because it fits.
>I'm surprised you haven't included Hyno on this list, I could easily see it being Psychic/Fairy because its a weird child-napping, dream eating goblin-baku thing.

For one thing they are sort of bland though, with just different stats and moves. They feel like totally wasted opportunities for flavorful secondary typings:
