It's a game no one asked for.
It's a game that Gamefreak wasted time on making instead of investing into SwSh.
It's a game that has less features than it's previous remake.
It's a game that cuts out 80% of Pokemon, not everyone's favorite pokemon is from the 151
It's a game that cost $60 ($110 where I live) but has about $15 worth of content.
It's a game that it aimed at little kids, little kids play Fortnite and COD, kids don't want to be babied.
It's a game that 30 year old men waste their money on cause they don't have children/GF.

The majority of people who buy Pokemon games do so within 2 months of its release. The 5 million or so super hardcore Pokemon fans and Nintendo game reviewers all bought these games for their own ends. It's stuck at 10 million because more hardcore fans skipped out of LGPE knowing those games were "spin-offs" with no official competitive metagame.

Nobody in their right minds thought LGPE would surpass Odyssey, Smash, or BOTW. But still, a port of a Mario Kart game from 5 years ago is the highest selling Switch game. My god. If Mario Kart 9 gets announced for Switich at some point, that shit will sell well over 18 mil.

Y'all want to see a real blunder, look at Yo-kai Watch 4's pre-orders in Japan. YW3 (632,135) already had a lower first week opening than Let's Go (664,198) despite it having been on the 3DS, and right now YW4's pre-orders are way, WAY below where YW3 was at this point.

They begin production on a new region game immediately before launching the game with the latest introduced region anon, have done going back 10 years and even better had they not fucked up during DP, they'd have launched it 3 years after launching R/S. The series will never "take a year off" due to the fact the entire world claimed it a fad on its release. TPC have the numbers to prove their brand of spin-offs can't carry the franchise any more (no-one bought the last few releases, they've made more money off GO in a year than they EVER did off spin-offs) so Game Freak gambled on their studio name being able to do so and ended up outdoing TPC's efforts from the height of Pokémania for most copies of a single pokémon console game by almost double.
