Honestly, think about it rationally, You are breeding, training, nurturing and rearing a Pokémon for at least 16 levels so it can go and become the property of another trainer. All the hard work you put into your little bundle of power - biking back and forth endlessly, feeding it vitamins and having it battle hordes, teaching it the right moves from paid tutors. All of it has one simple result: it is more desirable for other trainer who will reap the benefits of your work and its final evolved form, likely in battle against the very trainer who raised it.
As a Pokémon trainer, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 5 hours of your life simply to raise a Pokémon for another trainer to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE and FINAL cuck. Think about it logically.
