Which art style was your favorite? Personally I like 4's striking color schemes and rounded sharp shapes, 3's naturalistic ambigious creatures, and 1's aggressiveness.

Gen 5 isn't even right in the slightest
The only three I can think of that fit that idea are Conkeldurr, Throh and Sawk

4's probably my favorite though

Yeah the picture in OP isn't really what I want everyone to focus on. It was just something centered around each gen's distinctive style and design philosophy.

1 and 3 have the best styles overall but 7 is unironically full of fantastic designs like Golisopod, Rowlet, Toxapex, Minior, Charjabug, the entire Cosmog line, and Marshadow.

The only one that doesn't fit in is Gen 4, and 6 to a lesser extent. I could see any one of the other four being forgotten entries in the Dex but not those two.

How do you look at Gallade, Gliscor, Porygon-Z, Froslass, Yanmega, Weavile, etc. and end up with that?

These all feel like cherrypicking. It's clear the artist was only thinking of only a handfull of pokemon from each gen when he designed these.
Like how literally no gen 6 pokemon fits that description besides Fennekin.

Like, how many brown pokemon are there in the johtodex? How many pokemon fit the descriptions for gens 3 and 5?

Some will hate me for saying so but I think 7 is the nicest art style. It has the smoothest and most fluid shapes overall, nice color schemes, and not as many of its pokemon are covered in unnecessary accessories or angular doohickeys. 7 feels like they looked at the history of all pokemon and tried to streamline things.
