The ONLY justification for this is admitting you are a contrarian that immediately floats towards unpopular shit. There is not a single facet about sunflora that really stands out, or it does better than any other pokemon. In an alternate timeline where Sunflora was OU, and relatively popular, you wouldn't give it a second look and be screaming about how you've always loved luvdisc

It happened because Gen 2 is my favorite generation (nostalgia) and I was looking through the dex and I literally did not know sunflora existed. I discovered it and I fell inlove with the spritework and old watercolor design seeing as its something old I can experience for the first time. That’s why I like sunflora.

When I was a kid and gen 2 was new I thought Sunflora was really cool.
It was never my favorite though and nowadays I think it's boring and forgettable, although Sunkern is based.

I like Sunflora because I naturally gravitate towards strange-looking or elusive Pokemon, even as a kid. It's ok to like Pokemon that aren't traditionally cool, anon.
Sunflora was interesting to me because you see it maybe once owned by an NPC, if even that. I loved the spritework and its cry, and I never owned one in GSC because of the whole Sun Stone rarity. Using one in BW2 was a fucking blast after all that time.
This is also why I loved using Pokemon like Swalot, Chimecho, Relicanth, etc. in the following Gen.

I always thought Sunflora could use a Grass/Fire evolution. I like it but it really needs something to stand out make it unique.

I lived my youth in the countryside in Italy.
I loved Sunflowers. They were such a beautiful plant, so interesting and pretty. So little me used to think of Sunflora as the "badass sunflower who decided to get out and do shit". When I collected pokemon gadgets in food or juices and found a Sunflora I kept it as a treasure and it became my fav pokemon.
Then, years later, I finally got a pokemon game. Was so hyped to use Sunflora! And then...
realized it was shit.
I still love it, same for Ledian. But damn. It can't be my fav if Gamefreak hates it so much.

I'm with you. Great looking Pokemon I've used before, but it's just too bad it's total shit. Would love if they gave it the Masquerain treatment with +20 to special attack and special defense each, but that's far too optimistic.
