I just strolled by a shiny Bulbasaur at random, which makes me wonder. How many times do you think people just ran past a shiny? They're not always easy to make out, since the big/small variations of Pokemon have effects around them too.

I will not believe this until it's announced. The shiny rate is too high and you can catch infinite copies of the legendary birds, not to mention that the candy system is incompatible with mainline stats so all that data would just get erased.
Most likely you'll only be able to transfer them to Let's Go 2.

Not at all. The basic structure of a Pokemon's code is the same in LG as it is in every game since gen 3.
IVs and EVs and whatnot are all there and work the same. The candy boost is something future games can simply ignore.

Difference is those are ancient legacy games and you can't transfer back to them anyway.
People will naturally want to transfer their Let's Go Pokemon to Let's Go Johto and won't be happy if they're locked out of that because they transferred to mainline already - and they absolutely would be locked out because GF doesn't want people asking why they didn't get their candy boosts back.

Yes, and like when transferring from VC to gen 7, they just didn't transfer stat.exp to ev's. As for the Let's go Kanto to Johto, they could just have no transfer and make all the gen 1 Pokemon available normally.

I'm sure they can just encode the stat boosts into some aspect of the Pokemon to later be restored when transferred to another LG game. That's what they did to allow you to transfer Pokemon with held items between gens 1 and 2, no reason they can't do it again.

I'd be thrilled if they made bottlecaps harder to get but they only required lvl 50 to use. It's not like there's anyone battling mons at lvl 100, and all it takes to get there is mindless grinding.

Actually, you can tell by their natures, their OT,their IVs, their locations and the day they were caught, for example Shiny Melmetal was only available in 2019 yet there are some where the date they were caught was Nov 18th. through only official competing seems to give a fuck about that, the actually game won't give a shit and people you fight against will either not know enough about distribution to know it's a hacked mon or won't know the official release date.

Wait, isn't there a check Introduced in X/y it's a little mark near the Pokémon ,maybe a star or hexagon or something that doesn't appear on hackmons, they do a check for legitimacy, don't they? Can this be bypassed ? I hear it does a security/maths/encryption check or something. I've hacked legit looking Mons into a game and it didn't have the authentication mark...

I think there was a brief period where the mark could be used to prove legitimacy because 3DS homebrew was still too early to get injecting working properly.
But since then, it's only useful for keeping movesets restricted to what's legal in the current gen afaik.

Not what I said, reread it. I said you can feel happy that you encountered your own, it's a personal thing . Your opinions holds no value when it comes to what people value personally. I ran away from a shiny pikipek in SM. Didn't see the sparkle, noticed something was off as I ran away. Sure enough, checked the dex and it showed that I'd encountered a shiny one. Guess it's for the best, would rather breed for a shiny toucannon so it has brave bird and whatnot.
