The graphics aren't so much the issue as Gamefreak's atrocious optimization.

All of these had games on the 3DS that looked and ran better in full 3D. But Pokemon doesn't bother because they know they can get away with it

Well, it’s a lot of work to model nearly 1,000 Pokémon at this point, so what if they want to future proof their work by making the models too good for the hardware so they can be recycled across many generations?

The models in those games do not compare to Pokemon at all. SMT IV doesn't even have 3D battles or cutscenes.

They also have far shittier looking models which is why they don't lag dumbass

The only 3DS game I've played with similar quality models to Pokemon are the Ace Attorney games and even those games lag sometimes.

But they don't look good. Even with the fewer polys, Monster Hunter World and Yokai Watch are far more visually interesting. Hell, I'd rather they stay sprite based if that meant the games didn't chug.

Pokemon is the most succesfull franchise on the planet. If they fon't want to make the games kino, they could at least work to better optimize them. I can understand cutting the 3D for battles considering the heavy poly models causing it to lag so much that they had to cut 3 way battles and other features, but why the overworlds? What was so intense that they they had to cut 3D from them?
