>>38407668For me it's literally anything Pokémon-related, EXCEPT what you just said.
Seriously, c'mon:
1- for old fans, it's an old concept, repeated countless times, with nothing new to present
2- it would have zero appeal to a wider public, attracting only children and part of the diehard fanbase
3- the typical Pokémon journey consists of AT LEAST 8 Gym battles plus 5 E4+Champion battles, with at least 5 catches in-between plus rival and villain battles. That cannot be condensed in 2h, not even in 3h. And even if we cut a lot of it, it'd still be too repetitive.
4- it would most likely be a total cringefest
If Pokémon has even a bit of interest on becoming a mainstream film franchise, it can't start it by throwing that at the public.
>>38408091This one is interesting. Some group is stealing rare artifacts (maybe make it Pokemon related, fossils, legendary orbs/stones, etc), and the protagonist is a detective trying to stop them. Show how both the bad guys and the good guys use Pokémon powers creatively to achieve their goals (just thought now of the Generations episode 1, of Looker pursuing Giovanni).
It's simple and common enough for the mainstream public to be interested, but with an interesting twist of including Pokémon.
This might not even be a good example, but it shows that there is a huge amount of possibilities. Damn, some kind of treasure hunter a la Indiana Jones using Pokémon to do that, discover some artifact that another group wants (even include the legendary summoning if you want), than have to stop them. Anything, but "le Red story".
