Are there places within the pokemon universe for people who don't like pokemon?
Everything in the games seems to revolve around pokemon but there must be other shit people do to past the time.

There are probably plenty of them, but they're never seen in game because the MC's journey revolves around raising pokemon and having areas where pokemon aren't allowed would be out of place.

Funny how the anime tackles this issue many times, but at the end of every episode the character with this outlook always converts and starts to like and appreciate Pokemon more.
Though this does make you wonder if those who view Pokemon as tools and nothing more fall into this category.

Animals aren’t really a fair comparison here, since Pokémon are intertwined with humans in a way real life animals aren’t. Pokémon fuel power plants, help in construction, parents send their children on adventures across the country with them, and some are worshipped as literal Gods. A Poképhobic person would have no solution but to simply adapt and learn to live with Pokémon, maybe move to a city for minimal contact, but even then, you might have to deal with hoardes of Pidoves while walking down the sidewalk, practice caution while throwing out the trash so you don’t startle a Trubbish eating your garbage, etc.

I like the games because the gameplay is fun but there's no fucking way I'd live in this world full of dangerous demi-gods.

Okay, but no, the Pokemon world would be a horrifying place to live in if it was actually real.
Imagine not even being able to go to one city to another without having to carry powerful creatures because there are plenty of other creatures lurking in the grass and other areas that are more than capable of not only fucking you up, but in horrific ways. And then there's also the chance you'll become a Ghost type Pokemon after you die and then get captured and forced to fight these creatures.

Funny thing is it also works the other way round sometimes. Like Lumiose city, probably has a population in the millions, yet when there's a rampaging Garchomp, Ash has to come to the rescue, instead of it instantly getting hit by a hundred ice beams.
