Not quite sure what the general concensus was for Pokemon Fans and liking this Detective Pikachu movie. But I decided to share it here since I don't think the movie boards are really gonna care.

- The movie generally follows the plot of the Nintendo 3DS game with some differences.

-Mewtwo's role in the story is identical to that of the original game. His genes are accidentally used in a drug that causes rampaging Pokemon across the world.

- The main villain plans to use the drug formed from Mewtwo's genes to soread violence around the world

- Tim Goodman rediscovers being a Pokemon Trainer throughout the film and eventually catches a Greninja, Jigglypuff, and Ivysaur.

- The fate of Tim's father is revealed to be his "conscious" living within Detective Pikachu, however this is limited only to his cognitive abilities and speech not his memories. Tim merged with his partner during an accidental experiment with the same device that miced Mewtwo's genes with the drug


- There is an end credits scene of a news press release announcing that Pokemon Rangers have been tasked with calming down any remaining pokemon under the drug. It is followed up with news that a new Pokemon champion has been crowned

-There is an additional end credits scene where Tim and Pikachu are visited by a mysterious figure that for some reason you can only see his hands (The camera is shot from a first person perspective). He introduces himself as the Master and he has an additional case for Tim and Detective Pikachu. He says it's a case that will transcend even the world of Pokemon itself. He hands them an envelope with a circular symbol on it and the film ends
