The artwork is. The Pokémon itself is pretty cool. Sugimori should’ve done the Gen 7 artworks. They all look off. Damn incompetent Ohmura.

The only ones he did were the Alolan forms, Magearna, Poipole, Naganadel, Stakataka, Blacephalon, Zeraora, Meltan, and Melmetal.

The difference is obvious if you look closely

yeah, back during initial reveal I thought Rowlet and the others were the most hideous starter designs I’d ever seen and assumed they were fakemon. I didn’t think any base starter trio could be worse than that one... And then Galar was announced.
