>>38428289I caught him at the start of my first Emerald playthrough, the line always interested me after seeing Wally's Ralts/Gardevoir in Sapphire. The pokedex entry for Gardevoir really struck a chord with me, I guess I just really appreciated the idea of something caring so deeply for another. He was my main mon through that Emerald playthrough and since then he's been to every mainline game as well as connected to Colosseum, Gale of Darkness, Ranch, Battle Revolution etc.
Ever since then I've maintained a "main team" (pic related) that gets transferred over as soon as I beat the Elite Four in a new game, and things on it have stayed for anywhere between months and years. The one consistent one for the past 13 years has been this Gardevoir though. It was great getting to try all sorts over the years with him. I used to run a Synchronize+Lum Berry set up back in Gen 3 and 4 but Ability Capsule let him try Trace. Fairy typing and Mega were crazy and exciting too.
I don't have any big stories about him to tell, there's not been much drama or anything, just good memories. But that's what makes him special to me. I just really appreciate that he's been with me so long. I remember coming home from school and playing Pokemon when I was 13 or 14 and he was there. I'm 27 now and he's still here.
