Yeah, it's pretty common to have multiple blockbusters run at the same time. The conditions DP are in are almost exactly the same as Deadpool 2 when Infinity War came out and that movie did fine. Also, Jurassic World 2 and Incredibles 2. Both movies did well.

I think Pikachu will be alright. It's trying to carve out it's own place but for vidya, an untapped market

Also nobody seriously thinks DP will beat Endgame's gross box office. But it is very possible for DP to be the highest grossing film for its weekend and beat out Avengers' third weekend gross. Avengers needs 100+ mil gross if it stands any chance at beating DP in America alone.

From what I've gathered from early reactions the movie is mostly pretty good, from the sounds of things the first two acts are the sorta chill buddy cop stuff and the third act ends up more like a blockbuster action movie which isn't as good as the first two acts. Justice Smith doesn't really have a lot of character to him so I'm expecting Ryan will probably be doing most of the heavy lifting in the film.
I'm expecting a 7/10 movie that will be elevated by its authentic pokemon world. Hopefully it does well enough to at least warrant a few more pokemon movies if only to have something besides capeshit in theatres.

I fear that we have seen everything from the second trailer alone and the plottwist will be the same as the game (didn´t played it but got spoiled).

Either way I wanna say how the world looks like, because that cyberpunk japanese asthetic looks 1:1 how early gens were.
